Британская рок-группа, образованная в Ливерпуле в 1990 году. Стиль группы постепенно перешёл от дэт-дум-метала до прогрессивного рока. Последние альбомы испытывают сильное влияние Pink Floyd. В симпатиях к Pink Floyd признавались и сами участники группы, группа неоднократно записывала и исполняла на концертах различные песни Pink Floyd. Вместе с ещё двумя британскими группами: Paradise Lost и My Dying Bride, Anathema считаются одними из основоположников стиля дэт-дум-метал.
